On Friday April 9th at Sears Holdings we will be doing a 1.5 mile walk for the March of Dimes.  Did you know that the March of Dimes foundation was set up to help premature babies?  I didn't and my niece was born prematurely!  I understand how difficult it is for parents with prematures babies because I witnessed it first hand.  My sister and brother-in-law couldn't sleep at night because they weren't sure if my niece was just going to stop breathing.  So if you could it would be greatly appreciated if you could donate to help save babies lives.  Thanks!

Hello everyone,

My name is Yossi Sagol, a toy buyer for Kmart’s toy private label line – Just Kidz. 

What does that mean you might ask? Well I’m part of a team of 7 buyers who source all the toy products that we sell in Sears and Kmart stores.

I recently came back from Hong Kong, where I spent time working with our suppliers and factories to ensure we offer you the best range of toys at exceptional value. I am very excited abut 2010 Just Kidz program. You will be able to see in the stores starting in August 2010.

Why Go Generic?

            Are generic drugs just as good as brand-name?  The price certainly makes a difference!  Consumers are concerned because generics are often much cheaper than the brand-name pharmaceuticals.  Many wonder if the quality and effectiveness have been compromised to make the less expensive products.  Is it a bargain or a hoax?  Actually, generic pharmaceuticals are only substantially less expensive because a company spends a significant amount of money on research, development, marketing and promotion of a new drug.  The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires generic drugs be as safe and effective as brand-name drugs before they enter into the market.  Essentially, generics contain the exact chemical drug entity as the brand, in addition to the same dosage, intended use, effectiveness, side effects, route of administration, risks, safety, and strength as the original drug.  Generic drugs also work in the same amount of time in the body as brand-name drugs.  Further information on drug equivalency is listed in the FDA’s Orange Book, available electronically on the government’s website.

Trademark laws in the United States do not allow the generic drugs to look exactly like the brand-name product.  Sometimes generic forms have different colors, flavors, or combinations of inactive ingredients than the original medications.  You may notice an auxiliary label on your prescription bottle that states, “This is the same medication that you have been getting. The color, size, or shape may appear different.”  As always, it is important to become familiar with what your medicine looks like, but do not be entirely alarmed if you notice a difference in tablet size, shape, color, or imprint.  If you have any doubt, then don’t hesitate to check with your pharmacist if different generic manufacturer has been substituted for what you have received previously.

2.    Website will send a promotional Sears Gift Card with a value of $5 via email to each eligible registered member who submits five (5) or more Qualifying Submissions (as defined in Section 4 below) on the Website during the Giveaway Term (as defined in Section 5 below).  GIFT CARD RESTRICTIONS MAY APPLY.  

3.    To enter, you must visit either www.mysears.com/write or www.mykmart.com/write and submit at least five (5) Qualifying Submissions. 

4.    A “Qualifying Submission” must meet all of the following requirements:  

a.    Each submission must include a review of a product included in the Website product catalog;

In order for a new medication to be approved for sale in the market, the United States legally requires drug  sponsors to submit a New Drug Application (NDA) to formally propose the new pharmaceutical to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its approval.  The goals of the NDA are to provide enough information to permit FDA reviewers to establish safety and efficacy, labeling requirements, and guidelines that meet the standards obeying Good Manufacturing Practice.  The following drugs have most recently been approved by the FDA.  Some listings include currently marketed drugs in a new dosage form and/or new indications.
